Matthew joined AspinallVerdi as a Consultant in January 2019 after graduating from University College London with a Master’s in International Real Estate & Planning. The course was accredited by the RICS, covering various aspects of real estate development, international planning practice and valuation. Matthew has since completed his structured training and APC (planning & development pathway), becoming a Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer in 2022.

Prior to joining AspinallVerdi, Matthew worked for a renowned estate agency with coverage across London and the south east, and holds experience in both sales and lettings markets for residential and commercial property. 

At AspinallVerdi, Matthew has contributed his experience towards a variety of workstreams, including financial viability assessments (site-specific and plan-wide), S106 viability reviews, property market analyses, enabling development and heritage asset appraisals, public sector funding bids (FHSF, LUF) and ‘Red Book’ valuations. He has also provided representation at Planning Appeal and hosted training workshops for Councillors and committee members.

Matthew also leads AspinallVerdi’s working group on Mental Health and ESG, helping shape the company’s internal practices and procedures.


Favourite Regeneration Project

Northumberland Development Project, Tottenham – Matthew’s thesis focused on the variables associated with successful stadium-led regeneration, using the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium as the case study. The redevelopment of private sporting infrastructure and associated regeneration has led to numerous public benefits in the wider area.
