Beverley Road Townscape Heritage Scheme

Posted on July 16, 2014

AspinallVerdi, alongside Rider Hunt and Holland Brown, has been appointed by Hull City Council to prepare a Round 2 Townscape Heritage Bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund. Beverley Road has a strong commercial history, though the area has experienced significant change over recent decades in terms of increased commercial diversity and a rise in the private rented sector. The properties along the city gateway hold strong heritage and are architecturally characteristic, however many now suffer neglect and disrepair.

Hull City Council aims to improve the aesthetic appearance of the buildings, as well as a number of vacant ‘gap’ sites, to regenerate the area and help Hull achieve its ambitions for the European City of Culture by 2017.

The AspinallVerdi team will inform the development of the scheme to repair and reinstate the historical and architectural condition of both residential and commercial properties using their Heritage expertise. The team will estimate project costs, and undertake condition surveys and valuations of the properties. This will inform the scheme appraisals and funding strategy.
