Launch of the Lancashire Urban Development Fund

Posted on April 13, 2022

Aspinall Verdi joined Lancashire County Council and Igloo Investment Management as the £20m Lancashire Urban Development Fund launched on March 24th.

Aiming to mimic the success of similar funds, including in the Liverpool City Region, the LUDF utilises European Regional Development Funding to provide finance support to strategic, commercial and industrial development projects.

The LUDF will be targeted at bringing forward pipeline or stalled developments where the market has failed to do so. This will prioritise those schemes most likely to contribute to the economic growth of the region and in the engineering, aerospace, automotive, creative and environmental sectors.

Qualifying criteria for the fund include but are not limited to schemes that are:

  • Within the Lancashire region
  • Commercially viable
  • Expanding or modernising key employment space
  • Achieving a minimum EPC ‘B’ rating
